Interview solution Filtered grabs $10M and Dan Finnegan as CEO

How companies hire and interview technical talent needs a reboot. We are thrilled to share that Filtered has closed $10M in financing from The AI Fund, Silicon Valley Data Capital and TDF Ventures to fundamentally change how the world’s largest companies find, interview and assess technical talent across full-stack development, data science, AI, blockchain and DevOps. Filtered’s platform goes beyond screening and actually assessing a candidates’ ability to do the job on Day 1. By more effectively conducting interviews, reliably assessing skills and speeding up response times for applicants and hiring managers, Filtered’s solution will shake up how companies hire. As we enter our next phase of growth, we couldn't be more proud to have Dan Finnigan, the former CEO of Jobvite and Yahoo!, HotJobs, join the company as Chief Executive Officer.

REPORT: Workers with disabilities outpacing people without disabilities

At the start of 2022, as the acute phase of the COVID-19 pandemic began to subside and public health efforts continued, experts reflected on the pandemic's impact on employment in the U.S. This special edition of National Trends in Disability Employment (nTIDE) presents data from 2019 through 2021 for people with and without disabilities, showing stark contrasts in their progression from pre-pandemic employment levels of 2019, the impact of 2020 lockdowns, followed by the beginnings of recovery in 2021. The data show that people with disabilities have not only recovered from the setbacks of 2020 lockdowns, but they have also exceeded pre-pandemic levels of employment to reach new historic highs. This contrasts with their counterparts without disabilities who have yet to reach their pre-pandemic levels of employment

LinkedIn wants to normalize career breaks with new feature

Business-oriented social network LinkedIn says it's trying to end the stigma surrounding career breaks by encouraging users to highlight what they learned from these experiences. The Microsoft-owned company is releasing a feature on Tuesday that will allow people to add a career break to their LinkedIn profiles through the desktop site or mobile app, giving them a way to explain the gaps in their resume. Career break types include parenting, layoffs, bereavement, career transition and travel. Career breaks will be listed under a user's experience. "The goal here is to be able to provide space for people to share more context and color about how these experiences have helped them grow and develop skills that are valuable in life and at work," said Camilla Han-He, a senior product manager at LinkedIn.
