HireClix, a leading recruitment marketing services company, today launched its Career Site solution to provide enterprise-sized organizations with an upgraded, dynamic career site experience for candidates on a modern, consumer-grade technology platform. The solution aims to solve the pain points that many talent acquisition professionals are facing in a tight labor market by providing the capability to offer a unique and customized design, as well as the ability to rapidly create and edit content. HireClix’s Career Site capabilities provide companies with a customizable and scalable career site with a faster speed to deployment. The new career site deployments on average are taking only 60-90 days to go live, in comparison to other solutions that could otherwise take up to a full year. “When organizations are putting in so much time, money and effort to attract candidates, the experience you deliver matters,” said Neil Costa, CEO and Founder at HireClix. “There is an assumption that you are going to treat your employees the way you treat your candidates, so at HireClix we’re eager to help companies put their best foot forward and provide an upgraded career site experience in a cost-neutral way.”

More automation, not just additional tech talent, is what is needed to stay ahead of cybersecurity risks

The turbulence in tech — layoffs, slowing growth, and the hype and hope of AI tools like ChatGPT — is a reality for firms big and small. And as digital technologies become more prevalent across every type of company, there's little doubt that CISOs are at the center of all this uncertainty. That uncertainty is putting even more heat on CISOs already dealing with several other bandwidth, talent, and security issues, according to a recent survey by extended detection and response platform Cynet. According to the findings, 94% of CISOs said they are stressed at work, with 65% admitting work-related stress issues are compromising their ability to protect their organization. Among the CISOs surveyed, 100% said they needed additional resources to adequately cope with current IT security challenges. The ongoing battle for the right tech talent and the financial resources needed to do the job is impacting the teams reporting to CISOs as well, with 74% saying they are losing team members because of work-related stress issues. Nearly half said they have had more than one team member leave their role over the last 12 months. Stress is also having an impact on hiring. 83% of the CISOs surveyed admitted they have had to compromise on the staff they hire to fill gaps left by employees who have quit their job.

Workday AI Biased Against Black, Older Applicants, Suit Says

Workday Inc.'s artificial intelligence systems and screening tools allegedly disqualify applicants who are Black, disabled, or over the age of 40 at a disproportionate rate, according to a lawsuit. Derek Mobley seeks to represent all applicants in those protected classes who haven’t been referred or hired for employment as a result of the discriminatory screening process, according to the complaint filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California. The suit comes at time when federal agencies like the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission are pushing for enforcement on AI bias. Mobley, a Black man older than 40 who suffers from anxiety and depression, allegedly applied to 80-100 positions since 2018 that use Workday as a screening tool. He has been denied employment every time, despite him holding a bachelor’s degree in finance from Morehouse College and an associate’s degree in network systems administration from ITT Technical Institute. Workday provides its screening tools to hundreds if not thousands of companies, the complaint said. The company allegedly allows the preselection of applicants outside of protected categories, and the tools allegedly rely on algorithms and inputs created by humans who often have conscious and unconscious motivations to discriminate.

Workers say they’d return to employers that laid them off respectfully

More than half of workers surveyed by ZipRecruiter said they would return to a company that laid them off if given the chance, due in part to how that company behaved during layoffs. How did companies behave? Close to 60% of workers said they were told about layoffs in person — and only 16% of those workers said it was in a group setting, according to the March 2 report. Of the 42% who were told virtually, 13% were told via phone call and 12% via email. Only 4% were told via video call. Just over a fifth said they received career advising or job search assistance, while 1 in 3 received some form of severance pay, averaging about 16 weeks’ pay — far exceeding the median unemployment duration of nine weeks, ZipRecruiter said. Laid-off workers are also having little trouble finding a new position, the data showed. More than half of workers who were laid off in December or January reported having a new job by the end of January, though not always at the same rate of pay as their old position.
