Korn Ferry (NYSE: KFY), a global organizational consulting firm, today announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement with OMERS Private Equity to acquire UK-headquartered AMS, which will create a global leader in talent and organizational consulting. The challenge isn’t access to learning. It’s that learning, skills, and hiring remain disconnected. People don’t know which skills employers value most, employers struggle to verify what candidates can actually do, and too often there’s no clear path from learning to career opportunity. Today, Handshake is acquiring Uplimit, the leading AI-native learning platform, to fill this gap. Together, we’re bringing AI-native learning to Handshake’s network of 25 million job seekers and connecting learning directly to hiring for job seekers, employers, and the higher education institutions that support them.
The Office of Personnel Management and the Pentagon jointly announced the launch of a new initiative on Tuesday to bring top software engineering talent into the Department of Defense, part of a broader governmentwide push to hire more skilled technologists. The recruitment effort, called War Force, operates under OPM’s larger Tech Force program.
Mark Zuckerberg and other leaders at Meta aren’t beating around the bush: Their recent layoffs have hit employees hard. The CEO recently acknowledged the company “made mistakes” in how it rolled out the massive job cuts, where 8,000 were laid off and another 7,000 transferred. Meanwhile, Chief Technology Officer Andrew Bosworth said company morale is it at its lowest point in his two decades with the organization. According to new research, Meta, as well as the many other companies that have issued sweeping layoffs in the last few months, may face a long road until company culture bounces back.
