Veritone Raises $26.8M in Public Offering

Veritone, Inc. has entered into an underwriting agreement with Needham & Company, LLC to issue and sell 9,505,705 shares of its common stock in an underwritten public offering at $2.63 per share. The offering closed on September 12, 2025, with net proceeds of approximately $26.8 million. The funds are intended for working capital and general corporate purposes, including debt service and repayment. This move is part of Veritone’s strategy to bolster its financial position and support its operations in the AI solutions industry.

The new threat that has hiring managers worried

North Korean government agents have infiltrated more than 320 companies in the last 12 months — helped by generative AI tools at every stage of the hiring process. The striking assertion, made by cybersecurity firm Crowdstrike in its annual report this summer, stressed how bad actors have harnessed artificial-intelligence tools to help craft new cyberattacks and to gain entry into companies by generating fake identifies, masking their true identifies during video interviews, and drafting resumes and cover letters in more-convincing English. Once employed, these operatives can steal credentials, deploy malware and snag trade secrets.

Is ‘career catfishing’ real? Workers say yes, according to Monster

“Catfishing” typically describes when an individual lies about their identity to deceive someone into a friendship or romance. But can someone be “catfished” into a job? According to a Monster report from September, most workers think so: 79% of respondents said they have been deceived into taking a job that didn’t match the recruiter’s description. “For employers, it often looks like overselling company culture, benefits, or role expectations,” Monster researchers said. More specifically, about half of survey-takers said their on-the-job responsibilities were misrepresented. About 1 in 5 said the workplace culture was different than expected.
