These past few years have seen a huge shake up in most professional jobs, and the recent career upheaval has led to noticeable changes in job seeking behavior. When we surveyed nearly 2,000 professionals in the US and UK currently looking to change jobs, we see a complicated but important landscape. Jobseekers have higher expectations of job boards and employers. They care about work-life balance. And they want a streamlined job search experience. The good news is that society career services might be more critical than ever in connecting the right professionals to the right roles.
Our survey found that 63% of jobseekers plan to change roles in the next two years. This means many are already hard at work looking for a new position or even a new career. However, our participants aren’t willing to jump to just any job — they have clearly defined goals and requirements for a new role. Most crucially, they want a better work-life balance and a hybrid or remote setup.
