‘The Great Freeze’ in hiring may be thawing, ZipRecruiter finds

Across the U.S. labor market, “The Great Freeze” appears to be thawing, with 63% of businesses preparing to increase hiring in the year ahead, according to an Oct. 21 report from ZipRecruiter. The increase in hiring could have significant impacts, especially since employee turnover dropped from 177% in 2023 to 50% in 2025, marking a “historic slowdown,” the report said.

Findem Raises $51 Million

Findem, the only AI talent acquisition and management solution powered by 3D data, today announced $51 million in new funding. The raise includes a Series C led by SLW, with participation from Wing Ventures, Harmony Capital and Four Rivers Group, and growth financing from J.P. Morgan. This brings Findem’s total funding to $105 million.

Matt Wilson’s new solution is Jack & Jill, a new platform that uses conversational AI to reinvent the recruitment process from the ground up. The company announced $20 million in seed funding today, led by EU investor Creandum, but it’s hardly been in stealth. Service is already live in London, where the outfit has garnered nearly 50,000 users — and Wilson wants to use the influx of cash to fuel a U.S. expansion and take Jack & Jill to a new level.
