We’re proud to share an announcement that marks a turning point in Quebec’s recruitment landscape: Jobillico and Jobboom are joining forces to create the largest local employment network dedicated to supporting businesses and talent across the province. This alliance brings together two strong and complementary Quebec brands, each recognized for its expertise, impact, and long-standing commitment to Quebec’s professional community.
Three companies have declared war on how you use the internet. Perplexity AI launched Comet, its AI-powered browser, in July 2025. OpenAI released Atlas on October 21, promising a future where AI handles your web tasks autonomously. Google then responded by expanding agentic capabilities in Chrome through “AI Mode” in early November. We can call these new hybrid interfaces, “agentic browsers.” They can shop, book appointments, and navigate websites on your behalf.
Job boards have something in common with ATS (applicant tracking systems). They allow employers to move candidates through different stages and organize applications. Smart Job Board for example has a has simple ATS like functionality that job board owner can configure with the admin. A “lite” ATS allows small employers to manage candidate flow. iHire has one too. In fact they are doubling down on it.
The employee-employer power balance has shifted firmly to the employer, according to Glassdoor’s 2026 Worklife Trends report — and it has prompted employees to reexamine their engagement in turn. That power isn’t necessarily exercised in loud or expansive moves but in quiet, consistent changes, the report showed. For example, employers are turning toward smaller layoffs of 50 people or less, with 51% of all layoffs in 2025 fitting that description, Glassdoor said, and doing so over several waves rather than all at once.
Early on, AI can make workers more productive — helping them do more, faster — which tends to lift wages before automation starts to replace some of those jobs. But AI may already be pushing wages toward their peak, said Ioana Marinescu, an associate professor at Penn’s School of Social Policy & Practice and coauthor of a new Brookings Institution paper on “intelligence saturation.” “We are over 14% automation,” she told Business Insider, citing her research. “This is closer to a potential decline in wages than no automation.” Her Brookings model suggests that as soon as roughly 37% of cognitive or “intelligence” tasks are automated, wage growth could start to reverse.
