It’s a hackneyed metaphor, I know, but I still think it works. Job boards can learn a lot about how best to proceed in the future by looking back at the past. So, that’s what I’ve done.

I went back to the 1999 edition of Weddle’s Guide to Employment Sites on the Internet and took a look at the job boards that were featured there. There was just 350 of these trailblazers, and yet 25 years later, many of them not only remain in operation, they’re doing just fine … despite the endless blather of pundits extolling their extinction.

What came out of that journey was a three-post series, which is part business history and part strategic analysis all wrapped in a celebration of innovation and grit:

Post I – Looking Back: Job Boards 25 Years Ago

Post II – What Can Today’s Job Boards Learn From the Pioneers That Preceded Them?

Post III – John Donne’s Key to Job Board Success

I hope You Enjoy Them,
Peter
