The Rising Tide of Talent Technology

The arrival of new talent tech companies gets a lot of attention in the blogosphere and podcast universe. Tens of thousands of words are written and spoken about their new applications and capabilities. And, that’s useful. But, it’s also not the whole of the story. For every new entrant in the space, there are at least five current talent tech companies introducing innovations in their products that are equally as original and useful.
The vibrancy of the talent tech industry is not driven solely by what’s new, but by a combination of first-time players and old-timers, by companies that are still in the garage or just emerging from it and those that have been working with customers for a decade or more. Each adds something to the state-of-the-art, to how technology can be mastered to improve the experience of recruiters and candidates alike.
And yet, the buzz about talent technology focuses almost exclusively on the products of first-time players. That’s unfortunate as enterprise employers and even SMBs, staffing firms and RPOs can benefit just as much from what the old-timers are doing as they can from the new capabilities being introduced by first-time players.
In just the last six months, for example, those old-timers have announced the following developments:
Beamery Launches New Talent Data Platform As Foundation for AI-Driven Talent Management
Beamery, the leading Talent Operating System, announced the debut of its Talent Data Platform, an AI-driven digital data hub that uses graph technology and deep learning to drive more complete, accurate and actionable talent insights than otherwise possible for candidates, freelancers and employees.

Eightfold AI, the provider of the Talent Intelligence Platform(tm), announced the expansion of its industry-leading Talent Management solution. Central to this expansion is Career Hub, which pairs sophisticated AI-powered capabilities with a central destination for complete career development.
High-Volume ATS, Fountain, Launches New Mobile App

Metaview Interview Metrics launch

PeopleFactors Launches HR Pre-Hire Assessment Solution to Improve Hiring of Leaders and Strengthen Management Teams

Stoke Talent Enables Companies to Increase Trust for Freelancers
Stoke Talent, a leading freelance management system, is releasing a new Accelerated Payment tool. This new capability enables companies to pay their freelancers, consultants, and contract workers within 24 hours in their preferred currency and payment method.
That’s an astonishing array of innovations … and it’s only a small sample of what’s being introduced every month by the old-timers in the talent tech industry. Mesh that with what first-timers are bringing to the space, and what you’re witnessing is the rising tide of talent technology.
Food for Thought,
